DAMAX Solutions supported the Tanzania Agriculture Climate Adaptation Technology Deployment Programme (TACATDP), funded by the Green Climate Fund, by assessing the contribution of priority agricultural value chains to climate resilience and adaptation outcomes.
The study examined climate risk exposure, vulnerability, adaptive capacity and recovery potential across agricultural value chains. It also assessed farmers' adoption of climate-smart agricultural technologies, access to agricultural finance, water-efficient irrigation, sustainable crop and soil management, post-harvest practices and climate information services.
Using a longitudinal quasi-experimental design, DAMAX conducted baseline and endline assessments involving approximately 6,000 household interviews across 11 regions. Data were collected electronically using SurveyCTO with real-time monitoring and rigorous quality assurance procedures.
The assignment generated evidence on agricultural value chain resilience, technology adoption and financing barriers to inform programme evaluation, investment decisions and climate adaptation strategies.
